Senior Center Charitable Trust
Mission Statement
Put simply, our mission is to positively affect the mental and physical health of senior citizens in our community by providing food security through our meal programs and to fight against senior isolation by providing a place to gather and participate in meals and activities with other seniors.
Structure:
The Prineville Senior Center Charitable Trust is a privately owned charitable organization. It is composed of 2 separate 501(c)3 Corporations. The Prineville Center Foundation club operates to serve the community by providing scholarships for high school graduates in Crook County. The club also provides the governing board for the Prineville Senior Center and the Neat Repeat Thrift Store. A 7-member board is elected from and by the membership of the club to maintain and direct the daily operations of the senior center and thrift store.
The dollars you spend at the Neat Repeat provide about half of the operating expenses for the Charitable Trust. Other income comes from our partnership with the Council on Aging who distributes funds for our food program, provided by the federal government through the Older Americans Act. In addition, we actively seek grant monies and we receive monetary and meat donations from our community and the seniors who frequent the senior center.
It is important to note that we do not receive any support from city or county tax revenues.
